ASIAN GAMES 2018: AMIT PANGAL WINS GOLD IN BOXING

Indian Boxer Amit Panghal wins the gold medal after defeating Uzbekistan’s Hasanboy Dusmatov 3-2 in Men’s Light Fly (49kg) event held at the Asian games 2018.

This is India’s 14th gold medal at the Games. The 22-year-old boxer has defeated the 2016 Olympic champion.

That’s a huge huge win considering Amit lost to Dusmatov in the World Championships quarter-finals last year and the Uzbek won the gold medal at Rio Olympics.

India have now crossed their best-ever medals tally of 2010 by getting 66 medals – 14 gold, 23 silver and 29 bronze.

In another match middle-weight (75kg) boxer Vikas Krishan settled for a bronze medal after conceding a walkout in the semi-finals against Abilkhan Amankul of Kazakhstan due to an injury.
